USAA’s 2014 Top 10 Cars for Teens

usaaFor a third year, United Services Automobile Association has identified the USAA Preferred vehicles that get top marks in the areas parents have said they care most about — reliability, safety and reasonable insurance costs — to create the 2014 Top 10 for Teens list.

The list identifies the USAA Preferred vehicles, which have all earned Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick+ or Top Safety Pick awards, with an MSRP below $26,000 and the highest rank in reliability and cost of insurance.

This year’s Top 10 includes:

1. Chevrolet Spark
2. Honda Civic Sedan
3. Honda Civic Coupe
4. Mazda Mazda3 Hatchback
5. Toyota Prius
6. Nissan Altima
7. Toyota Camry
8. Dodge Dart
9. Mazda Mazda6
10. Mazda CX-5

“Handing over a set of keys to a less experienced teen driver is a difficult thing to do for most parents,” says Lauren Fix, The Car Coach®, a recognized automotive expert. “USAA created the Top 10 for Teens so that parents can be better informed when searching for a safer vehicle that won’t break the bank.”
